Fans will surely be disappointed to see The Witcher Netflix Season 2 delayed, but the production company is doing it for good reason — coronavirus concerns are causing them to put the show on hiatus for a short time to protect the cast and crew. This may mean that The Witcher will be delayed.
A second season of The Witcher 2 was announced before the show debuted its first season on Netflix. Production has been underway for a while now, but the growing coronavirus crisis has caused many major populated areas to enact restrictions on public gatherings. Production is currently taking place approximately 40 miles (64km) west of London, England.

“We have made the decision, effective immediately, to pause production for two weeks during this difficult time… this will allow everyone the time to make informed decisions about how to move forward,” an anonymous source close to the production said to Deadline.
“The coronavirus has raised challenging issues for everyone working on set on productions for Netflix,” the source added. “We are very grateful for all the work everyone has done to keep cast and crew safe during this pandemic.”
While we may be upset to see The Witcher Netflix Season 2 delayed, it’s all ultimately to keep the cast and crew protected. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too much longer to enjoy the next chapter in Geralt’s epic adventure.
