A new The Last of Us 2 demo will be playable very soon. Naughty Dog has been hard at work getting The Last of Us 2 ready for prime time, and a few lucky fans will be able to get a sneak peek at what we can expect from the next stage of Ellie’s adventure.
A post on the EU PlayStation Blog reveals that this new The Last of Us 2 demo will be focusing on an early portion of the game. Titled “Patrol”, this demo will focus on an early area of the game. Ellie and Dina have discovered that some of the infected are hanging around the area and the pair will have to leave the safety of Jackson to combat the threat.

The demo is going to last about an hour in total. That sounds like a hefty chunk of time, but the developers state that this is only going to be a “small chunk” of what we can expect to see in the game. It will be making its premiere at PAX East 2020 in Boston and will be on the show floor from February 27–March 1, 2020.
They do mention that space is going to be limited, though. That’s why they recommend anyone wanting to try the new The Last of Us 2 demo secures their spot using the Experience PlayStation mobile app. You can get the app for free on Google Play for Android and on the App Store for iOS.
That’s not all that’s coming, though! Dark Horse has also created a pretty darn cool collectible statue of Ellie. While the special Ellie Edition of the game has a statue of its own, that particular piece is a more chill representation showing Ellie playing her guitar. This statue shows the other side of the coin, with a battle-hardened Ellie wielding a bloody machete and spoiling for a fight.
