Sony’s latest PlayStation State of Play livestream included a few game reveals, release date announcements, and a few short looks at previously announced titles. A new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare trailer gave viewers a closer look at the game’s campaign. It’s got some impressive visuals and a cinematic presentation, fitting for a campaign that might be Spec Ops: The Line’s narrative successor.
PlayStation State of Play September 2019 | Wattam release date
A new trailer for the Katamari Damacy creator’s new game, Wattam, showed off the game’s wacky art style, featuring various inanimate objects with faces. Several years after Wattam’s initial 2015 announcement, the trailer finally revealed the game’s release window: December 2019.
PlayStation State of Play September 2019 | Arise: A Simple Story announcement
This beautiful-looking, Journey-esque adventure follows a dead man’s trip through limbo, as he relives moments of happiness and sadness from his life. It appears to feature some platforming elements, and developer Piccolo Studio said on the PlayStation Blog that players will at one point gain the ability to manipulate time.
PlayStation State of Play September 2019 | L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files trailer
The L.A. Noire VR spin-off was announced for PSVR, and it’s out right now. L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files puts players in the first-person perspective of an old-timey L.A. detective, using a notepad to take notes and inspecting objects for clues.

A new trailer for Afterparty, the new adventure game from the developers of Oxenfree, showed details of the game’s goofy story. Players follow two dead young adults as they try to dupe Satan and break out of hell. Afterparty comes to PS4 and other platforms on October 29, 2019.
