Cyberpunk 2077 DLC

The Cyberpunk 2077 DLC will be based on The Witcher 3’s post-launch support

CD Projekt Red has shed some light on its plans for Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to be a lengthy game set in a dense map, but players are already counting on high-quality additional downloadable content that is in line with what the team has done in the past. With a successful post-launch DLC strategy for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the team wants to replicate that approach for the upcoming sci-fi game as it revealed in a recent interview.

Speaking with VGC, level designer Max Pears revealed that the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC won’t stray from the strategy executed in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt:

“We’ve learnt a lot from Witcher 3 and how that DLC worked. We’ve learnt from that and that is the strategy for how we’ll apply DLC to Cyberpunk as well. We’ll look to take what we’ve learnt from Witcher 3 and apply that,” Pears said.

Pears isn’t only talking about story-based DLC, such as The Witcher 3 expansions Blood and Wine, and Hearts of Stone that added several hours of content to the base game. He also mentioned other minor and free updates that vastly improved the experience in Wild Hunt.

“With Witcher 3 the game got better with quality of life updates for the community as well, like how we improved the UI and things like that,” he said. “So we’ll be listening to feedback but we do have focus on what the DLC will be.”

While it’s too soon to speculate on exactly what kind of Cyberpunk 2077 DLC we’ll get, it’s apparent that CD Projekt Red is going to stay true to its ideas, putting quality first and foremost. This is how the Polish developer managed to conquer millions of players over the world, even helping some of them through difficult times.

One thing that you won’t be able to do when Cyberpunk 2077 launches on April 16, 2020, is romance Keanu Reeves, no matter how breathtaking his character Johnny Silverhand may be.
