Brawlhalla x WWE

Brawlhalla x WWE crossover adds The Rock, John Cena, and more to Ubisoft brawler

Developer Blue Mammoth Games and publisher Ubisoft have launched a crossover event between their free-to-play platform fighter, Brawlhalla, and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in celebration of this Sunday’s SummerSlam wrestling event. The Brawlhalla x WWE update adds past and present WWE Superstars to the game’s roster, including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, John Cena, The New Day’s Xavier Woods, and current RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. The characters all bring new signature maneuvers and weapons to the game, for example, The Rock’s iconic “People’s Elbow,” the crutch that Becky Lynch once used as a weapon on WWE TV, and Xavier Woods’ trombone, affectionately named Francesca II: Turbo.

In addition to the four new characters, today also marks the launch of the limited-time “Brawldown” event, where players can pair any of the game’s characters off into tag teams and engage in 2v2, no holds barred matches in the SummerSlam arena. The first team to KO their opponents three times wins, and there are traditional WWE implements like folding steel chairs and breakable wooden tables which can be utilized to stun and deal heavy damage to opponents and help you secure a win. Whilst the Brawldown event will come to an end, the WWE Superstars will remain available thereafter.

Each WWE Superstar will set you back 300 Mammoth Coins — Brawlhalla‘s premium currency — to unlock, with 340 Coins being the closest bundle and setting you back a not-insignificant $12.99. Larger bundles can be purchased at a discount if you’re looking to snap up all four new characters. With the WWE Superstars joining an already star-studded cast including Hellboy, Rayman, the cast of Adventure Time, and more, Ubisoft’s free-to-play brawler could prove expensive for fans of pop culture.

If you’re ready to head online and lay the smackdown on aaaall those candy-asses, boot up Brawlhalla on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or PC and get right to it.
