X-COM: Enemy Unknown And The Alien Threat Head To iOS

At PAX East, the Firaxis team took to a panel to talk a little bit about their reboot, X-COM: Enemy Unknown, and how it was getting ported to the iOS platform, both iPad and iPhone. The battlefield moves around as you'd expect, and each of your soldiers can be poked and prodded into firing position. Lead designer Jake Solomon explains it pretty well, so check out the video announcing the port.

As someone who switched his Bioshock Infinite preorder from PS3 (Move support lost! NOOO!) to PC (gorgeous in my eyeballs) purely for the X-COM: Enemy Unknown bonus, I'm eager to yet again spend money on the strategy simulation. I love the council's voice and the tense moments before a comrade dies or an enemy gets its head blown off.

We'll have to wait and see when we can expect to stamp out exterrestrial life on the bus, Commander.
