Mortal Kombat 11 Jade reveal stream shows off green Edenian fighter

It looks like the teases near the end of the Kabal stream were exactly what they appeared to be. The Mortal Kombat 11 Jade reveal stream showed off the iconic princess in the upcoming fighting game.

Jade will incorporate her glaive and staff more in her moveset in Mortal Kombat 11. Her staff gives her some decent range and her glaive helps keep her opponent away too. This playstyle will make her more of a zoning character, meaning that she won’t have long combos but will be more geared toward players who want to stay away from the other player.

Jade first debuted in Mortal Kombat 2 and has been a series mainstay for nearly every game since. She was first playable in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Her staff and glaive have always been part of her signature style and appear to be a focus here in Mortal Kombat 11.

This is also her first appearance since Mortal Kombat 9 in 2011. She did not appear in Mortal Kombat X but sort of appeared in one of Kitana’s variations. However, while a decent nod, this didn’t sit too well with many players. Her absence has made her a highly requested fighter and her reappearance will probably please a lot of long time fans who wanted to see more of the iconic green female ninja.

The Mortal Kombat 11 Jade reveal is part of the rapid character reveals that NetherRealm has had since the titles grand unveiling back in January. Kano was shown in early February as well as Kabal and D’Vorah a few days later on the Kombat Kast and Microsoft’s Inside Xbox stream, respectively. Since the game is rumored to have 25 characters and will come out on April 23, that means this rapid fire schedule of reveals with continue until launch. This is the benefit of waiting so long to show the game.

Jade joins the other 11 (or 13 if you count Liu Kang and Kung Lao) characters that have acknowledged by the developer. The next Kombat Kast will be at the end of the month but no specific date was mentioned.
