Mortal Kombat 11 D'Vorah

Mortal Kombat 11 D’Vorah revealed

The Mortal Kombat 11 roster grows again as D’Vorah was officially revealed for the game. D’Vorah brings the total confirmed roster size to 11 including pre-order bonus Shao Kahn and the recently revealed Kabal. The Mortal Kombat 11 D’Vorah announcement came via NetherRealm Studios today during Microsoft’s Inside Xbox stream.

D’Vorah was announced by Ed Boon during a pre-recorded segment from today’s Inside Xbox stream. “We’re excited to see her, and her new moves as she plays in this new kind of sandbox,” Boon said. Sadly, no gameplay was shown of the character, and only her default look was in the displayed concept art.

D’Vorah was introduced in Mortal Kombat X as a female member of the Kytinn race. The Kytinn is a species of colonial insects living within humanoid bodies from the Arnyek islands in Outworld. Her Mortal Kombat 11 appearance is more “armored” with a less human appearance. She also more prominently showcases her extra limbs jutting out of her back.

In Mortal Kombat X, D’Vorah killed Mileena and Baraka, as she served Kotal Kahn throughout the game. Kotal Kahn, also known as Ko’atal, is the current emperor of Outworld. D’Vorah is his first minister, killing Mileena with a bug-filled kiss in MKX. Baraka died to D’Vorah as well, but nobody cares about him. Probably.

Kabal was also announced today and was shown in today’s Kombat Kast from NetherRealm Studios. Kabal made his debut in Mortal Kombat 3, and was absent as a playable character in MK X. He did appear in 2011’s Mortal Kombat. Today’s Kombat Kast also had hints pointing to a Kitana reveal in the future. Steve Brownback, Senior QA Analyst at NetherRealm, said on today’s Kombat Kast, that he was very excited to reveal the next character. He said he was very excited to reveal “her.” Brownback previously played Mortal Kombat competitively, where he mainly played Kitana.

Mortal Kombat 11 releases on April 23, 2019 for PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
