If you wanted a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti but didn’t want the cooler that comes with it, good news: it’s now possible thanks to Colorful. The bad news? You may still be unable to get it.
According to Cowcotland (via Overclock 3D Net), Colorful—who has released naked graphics cards in the past—is planning on releasing a naked version of the RTX 2080 Ti iGAME graphics cards which will ship without the triple-fan cooling system. This is good news for people who like customizing their own water cooling and want to mount their water block of choice.
Cowcotland also reported that this version of the graphics card will feature Nvidia’s reference clock as well as their reference PCB design. This will allow this specific graphics card to support any water block that is designed for the original Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition of the card.
The good news is that this new variation of the graphics card will be a lot cheaper. The bad news, at least for people in the west, is that it is expected to be exclusive to the Chinese market, and will likely be sold to internet cafes only.
Nvidia does want to pay attention to the Chinese market going forward, though it will be a tough task due to recent political developments. Nvidia stock price has halved since October, due to both dwindling interest in cryptocurrency and the ongoing trade dispute between the United States and China.
Despite this, they are still working on a number of new graphics cards. A recently leaked photo showed that the GeForce GTX 1660, which has been rumored for a while, has been all but confirmed. This could mean that a new line of mid-range graphic cards could be in the pipeline.
There is no word if this will be released to the general public or if it will be heading to North America or Europe.
