Walking Dead Our World Season Nine AMC

Walking Dead: Our World Missions Tie Into Season 9 of the TV Show

The Walking Dead Our World launched on iOS and Android this past summer. This mobile augmented reality, location-based Pokemon Go for zombie fans is a game that inserts walkers into your everyday life. And now the game and the show it’s based off will be tied together.

Season 9 of AMC’s The Walking Dead premieres this coming Sunday. The following Monday, The Walking Dead: Our World will receive new missions tied to the events of the TV show. These include both the single mission encounters and larger group Infestations. Completion of all of these missions will guarantee players characters from the related episode. By the end of the season, players will surely have a mighty crew ready to take on any undead threat.

New TV-centric missions will continue to roll out each week as the season goes on. CEO of Our World developer Next Games Saara Bergström shared that the team was excited to “let players experience the apocalypse first-hand in their everyday life and familiar surroundings.” Based out of Finland, the team is also hard at work at several other licensed games, including one based on the Blade Runner franchise.

In order to celebrate the content, AMC Games has started a YouTube miniseries called “Life After The Walking Dead.” Michael Cudlitz and Josh McDermitt return to their Walking Dead personas in a series of skits promoting the game. Each new episode will premiere on the Next Games channel alongside new batches of content. Oh, and if you’re wondering, Michael Cudlitz is the one sporting the ridiculously awesome mustache.

If impatience gets the best of you, don’t fret. You can download The Walking Dead Our World right now on both iOS and Android devices. Just try not to scream when you see a virtual zombie pop up next to your sibling. No one wins in that situation.
