Not to get confused with the upcoming Generation 1 remakes, Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, Game Freak is also developing an all-new Pokemon Switch RPG. Set to be a more traditional entry into the Pokemon series, Pokemon Generation 8 was always said to have a release date of the “second half” of 2019. Now, we have a slightly better understanding of its release date.
According to Serebii, the upcoming Pokemon Switch RPG has been given a slightly tighter release date. Shifting from the “second half” of 2019 to “late 2019”. While this is a subtle change in the release date, it does give us a sounder knowledge of when we can expect the game. “Late 2019” suggests a Pokemon Switch release date of October-December 2019. This is better than a more vague July-December 2019 release date. Two years in a row with a Pokemon adventure on Switch in time for the Holidays? Count us in!

Don’t worry fellow pokefans, as this isn’t a delay. This is merely a refinement of an initially vague release window. We can easily picture a late 2019 release date. Other than a relatively vague release date, what do we actually know about the upcoming Pokemon Switch RPG? We do know that it will officially be Pokemon Generation 8. Not only will it be a completely new Pokemon RPG built ground-up for Switch, it will feature better graphics than Pokemon Let’s Go! Based on the tidbits of information we have been given thus far, it sounds like it will be a more traditional Pokemon game than Let’s Go!
We can’t wait to see more of Pokemon Switch. Hopefully, it won’t be long before we know more about it. For now, at least, it’s sounding promising. Anyway, who can complain about two new Pokemon games in two years?
