The handsome, masked mug you see above is not GameRevolution's UghRochester. It's Tom Hardy playing Bane in this summer's The Dark Knight Rises. Doesn't he just scream "secret agent of the United States government"?
Well, maybe he will without the aenesthetic mask on. Tom Hardy has been tapped to play a leading role in Ubisoft's planned film adaptation of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. Hardy joins Eric Warren Singer already slated to write the script for Sam Fisher's first silver screen debut.
Splinter Cell is shaping up on the heals of the Assassin's Creed movie from New Regency, Fox, and Ubisoft. It was revealed earlier this year that Michael Fassbender would co-produce and headline that film, but it seem like Ubisoft is hoping to get the ball rolling on both films in the coming months.
Despite this, Splinter Cell doesn't have a studio partner like Assassin's Creed does, so despite the scriptwriter and leading man, gamers should continue to hold their breath, but not for a DECENT video game movie. All the stars and money in the world can't guarantee that.
