Digimon-Survive

Digimon Survive Gets More Details and a Trailer

As we have previously reported the Digimon franchise is getting a brand new console game. Called Digimon Survivethe game will be released on PS4 and the Nintendo Switch. There is no current news on whether the game will be getting a western release, but you can watch the new trailer below which comes from a recent stream for the franchise:

This trailer confirms that indeed, the game will be a combination strategy roleplaying game and visual novel. Players will be taking control of Takuma Momotsuka who has been teleported from a campsite to what is presumably the Digital World. There he meets his partner Digimon, Agumon, and the two must find a way to survive in the harsh world. The game will also be extremely choice heavy in its story which affects the endings as well as potentially the evolutions of the digital monsters. What is newly revealed is that some of the game’s characters could die because of the choices made by the player. Also revealed during the stream was that over 100 Digimon will be available to fight within the game.

You can watch some gameplay from both the battle and story sections below:

Digimon Survive will be released on PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2019 to celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary. There is no current news whether the game will be coming west. However, based on previous releases by Bandai Namco of Digimon games, it will only be a matter of time before it comes over. Additionally, during the stream, it was revealed that another more traditional Digimon Story style game is also in development.

But what do you think? Are you excited for Digmon Survive? Or do you think that it hasn’t evolved past the rookie stage? Sound off in the comments below!
