A new Bandai Namco game lineup will be gracing Gamescom 2018. Taking place in Cologne, Germany, from August 21st to 25th, 2018, there will be a total of 11 playable games at the upcoming event. If that’s not enough to get you hyped, there will also be one new game to be announced.
As reported by Gematsu, Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe vice president of marketing and digital Herve Hoerdt confirmed that a “brand new co-publishing project” will be announced at Gamescom 2018. What could this game be? No further details or information were revealed, but considering that the new game will be co-published, it could potentially be huge.
The lineup of 11 playable games includes as of yet unreleased games such as Soulcalibur 6, One Piece: World Seeker, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, My Hero: One’s Justice, Jump Force, Code Vein and Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. Dragon Ball FighterZ for the Nintendo Switch will also be playable at the event. Only eight out of the eleven games have been revealed so far, and it will be interesting to see what else Bandai Namco will be exhibiting.
Of all the games in the revealed lineup, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown and One Piece: World Seeker are the only ones without definitive release dates. The latest installment in the long-running flight arcade simulator franchise has been delayed several times since it was initially announced over three years ago at PlayStation Experience 2015. It would be great to see more gameplay and a concrete release date for the highly-anticipated sequel to 2007’s Ace Combat 5: Fires of Liberation.
In other related news, Capcom has confirmed that there will be a playable demo of Devil May Cry 5 at Gamescom 2018, alongside several story details. It could also be possible that we will be seeing more of Life Is Strange 2, as Dontnod Entertainment promised that more information will be revealed in August 2018, which coincides with when Gamescom 2018 will be taking place.
