Taki is Coming to Soul Calibur 6

Taki, one of Soul Calibur’s most famous and recognizable characters, is coming to Soul Calibur 6. The leaked Japanese trailer captured by YouTube user Wonkey shows the popular red ninja in action. The trailer leaked onto Japanese video site NicoNico but was taken down quickly, which explains the shaky quality of the video. While Bandai Namco has not yet commented on the subject, the whack-a-mole style of finding a playable trailer that hasn’t been taken down means they’re close to an official announcement. Consider the beans spilled.

Taki has been in almost every entry in the series since its inception starting with Soul Edge in 1995. However, she did not appear in Soul Calibur 5 but she was replaced by her apprentice Natsu in order to feature someone younger to stay consistent with the timeline.

In Soul Calibur 6, she retains her trademark red suit and dual swords. Keeping in line with her traditional outfit, the trailer also shows her flipping around and pummeling her opponent with a flurry of new and signature moves. Given her status as a long-running character, she will probably factor into the story more, which is supposed to be a bigger focus this time around.

She joins the roster along with fellow Soul Calibur icons such as Ivy, Zasalamel, Groh, Kilik, Xianghua, Mitsurugi, Nightmare, Siegfried, Sophitia, and Geralt from The Witcher. This is only a portion of the roster for now, as the game is set to release on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC later (but probably not the Switch) this year.
