Dark Souls Remastered Network Test Dates for PS4 and Xbox One Revealed

Bandai Namco has officially revealed the network test dates for the upcoming Dark Souls Remastered on the PS4 and Xbox One. Players can already begin downloading the network test client starting from today on May 1st until May 8th, 2018, which is when the network test client will be removed. The actual network test will commence on May 11th and May 12th, from 6:00 pm PDT through 12:00 am PDT on both days for players in the Americas.

In a post on PlayStation Blog, Bandai Namco Games Public Relations Specialist Nick O’Leary revealed that the Dark Souls Remastered network test will take players through the Undead Parish area. He also confirmed that the game will have a resolution of 1080p on the base PS4 and 4K on the PS4 Pro, as well as 60fps framerate and a new six-player multiplayer PvP addition.

Additionally, Xbox One players will need an Xbox Gold subscription to participate in the network test for Dark Souls Remastered. Unfortunately for Nintendo Switch players, Bandai Namco has not announced the network test dates for the hybrid console yet. This isn’t surprising considering the company recently revealed that the Nintendo Switch version of the game was going to be pushed back to a release window of summer 2018.

There will be many improvements in Dark Souls Remastered, including the addition of the Password Matching system from Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3, with the summoned player’s level for both the character and his weapons syncing with the host. Other changes include the ability to use more than one item at once and changing Covenants at a bonfire. Check out our article here for the complete list of changes.

Dark Souls Remastered for the PS4, Xbox One and PC will be released on May 25th, 2018. The release dates for both the Nintendo Switch version and the Solaire of Astora Amiibo figure have been delayed to a timeframe of summer 2018.
