God of War Update 1.13

Xbox Heads Congratulate Sony for God of War’s Success

Everyone is a little bit in love with God of War, and that includes Xbox Heads Phil Spencer and Larry Hryb. While the rivalry between Sony and Xbox has always been around, though it mostly seems to be with the players rather than head figures, it’s nice to know that differences can be put aside when it comes to a job well done. And God of War is more than a job well done once taking into account the reviews it’s received, that and how it may well be the top rated PS4 exclusive of all time. It’s definitely an accomplishment that Santa Monica Studios should feel proud of.

Earlier today, Xbox Head Phil Spencer tweeted a congratulatory message to Santa Monica Studios and the president of Sony Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, over the success that God of War has earned from the press and fans alike. However, it wasn’t just Spencer who went out of their way to congratulate the studios.  Xbox Live Director of Programming, Larry Hryb, also tweeted his sincere congratulations. You can check both of their tweets out below.

As we’ve mentioned before, it’s fantastic to see the camaraderie between Xbox and Sony, even if some fans may not share it. The positive dialogue between the two companies shows that even with their differences, they still acknowledge and respect one another. Though while the congratulations are lovely, it must be a difficult pill for Microsoft and Xbox to swallow knowing that God of War is added to yet another PS4 exclusive list of games that have managed to charm both the press and fans. However, who knows, maybe in the future it’ll be Sony who will be congratulating Microsoft? Only time will tell…
