Jeff Goldblum to Star in Jurassic World Evolution Video Game

Jeff Goldblum will star in the upcoming Jurassic World Evolution video game, with the actor set to reprise the role of Dr. Ian Malcolm from the film series. The game, which follows in the footsteps of Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis by letting players create their very own dinosaur theme park, will feature Goldblum’s voiceover talents as its in-game guide.

Goldblum appeared in a special trailer outlining his appearance, and he’s already awarded it “ten Goldblums.” According to the actor, that is his “highest rating.”

Jurassic World Evolution appears to be shaping up nicely, with it being developed by Elite: Dangerous and Planet Coaster creator Frontier Developments. The trailer didn’t reveal much about Jeff Goldblum’s role in the park building sim, though Jurassic Park fans will no doubt be pleased to hear that he will be making an appearance nonetheless.

Goldblum is experiencing something of a career renaissance as of late, with the eccentric star having appeared in Thor: Ragnarok and Ian Malcolm set to return in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Him appearing in Jurassic World Evolution is a pretty big deal for Frontier, then, so hopefully the game can justify its acquisition of an A-lister.

Watch the trailer below:

Much like Operation Genesis before it, Jurassic World Evolution will allow players to build their very own version of the iconic film franchise’s theme parks, albeit with a modern day makeover and the various new scientific upgrades featured in Jurassic World. In Evolution, players will be placed in charge of a park on Isla Nublar and its surrounding islands, with them being tasked with running a profitable business and, presumably, stopping those dinosaurs from breaking free and killing everyone. Fun!

Jurassic World Evolution will hopefully live up to its developer’s previous theme park game, with Planet Coaster providing a huge creation suite for players to tinker with, allowing them to create giant rollercoasters and elaborate parks to share with others online. Throwing dinosaurs into the equation should surely spell even more success, though we’ll have to wait until the game’s release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One this summer to see if it lives up to expectations.
