Gwent The Witcher Card Game New Arena Mode Releases Today

CD Projekt Red has launched a new mode called the Arena for Gwent The Witcher Card Game today on February 28th, 2018. This new mode is meant to bring a fresh new perspective to the game. Players were initially tied to one specific faction out of five, which includes Monsters, Nilfgaard, Scoia’tael, Northern Realms and Skellige. In the new Arena mode, players can craft decks out of every faction regardless of whether or not they have unlocked them. Players have to create decks drafted from randomly chosen cards and use them to win battles. The rule set for the Arena mode even allows for no limits in available units.

Thus, the new Arena mode provides a great way to keep the game from becoming stale, as well as grant players an opportunity to learn about new cards and mechanics outside of the faction they have originally chosen. Players will be encouraged to experiment and think up new strategies on the fly, thereby improving their tactical knowledge.

In the Arena mode, players will enter the mysterious realm of Master Mirror, where they will encounter Gaunter O’Dimm, who was a prominent character in the Hearts of Stone expansion in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The rewards for winning battles will improve as players go up against more opponents.

To participate in the Arena Mode, players will need to acquire Mirror Shards, which are obtainable via real money or in-game currency. However, the generous CD Projekt Red will be giving away three Mirror Shards to players who log in during Arena’s launch week, which ends on March 7th, 2018. After the promotional period ends, players will still be given one free Mirror Shard by logging into the game.

Gwent The Witcher Card Game is a free-to-play collectible card game developed and published by CD Projekt Red. It is based on the Gwent card game from The Witcher novels and games. It was originally released in open beta for the PS4, Xbox One and PC in May 2017. The full game is expected to release sometime in 2018.
