Preorder Assassin’s Creed 3 At Comic-Con, Get A Free Shirt

Video games at San Diego Comic Con are stuffed back in the corner of the Exhibit Hall, but studios are finding unique ways to get people come by to learn about the game, wait in long lines for demos, and even preorder the game right there at the booth. Ubisoft's method? Preorder Assassin's Creed III through Best Buy right there, and you'll get a SDCC 2012-exclusive T-shirt. You know con-goers love their swag.

They had a row of laptops neatly set up with Best Buy employees ready and waiting to help you preorder on the spot. As soon as your order confirmation screen popped up, ding! You get a free shirt!

Whoa, whoa, whoa…that doesn't exactly sound free, right? Well, remember that if you preorder with Best Buy online, you don't have to put any money down to reserve your copy. Also, who's to stop you from canceling your preorder when you leave? It's not like Best Buy officials will be tearing down your house for the shirt. Oh don't give me that look; you know several preorders will be canceled post-con.

I was going to buy this game anyway, so it was a complete no-brainer for me. Besides, the shirt is pretty cool, and I love me some gaming shirts.
