Bungie-Activision Contract Reveals Destiny, Xbox Timed-Exclusive

The LA Times published the alleged contract between Activision and Bungie that inked a four-game deal. Within the document, it revealed plans for a Sci-Fi action-shooter, codenamed Destiny.

The first game, which is to be an Xbox 360 exclusive, is planned for a 2013 release, with a sequel every other year after that. Although the first game is to be an Xbox 360 exclusive, the following sequels would be released on the PS3/PS4, PC, and Xbox 720 should the developer and publisher see fit.

The contract also outlined four expansion packs per title, codenamed Comet, which would arrive the following year after the initial game release.

This plan would have this Destiny project spanning eight years and at least two console generations.

Also revealed in the document, is the bonus Bungie could expect should their game reach a Metacritic score of 90 or higher—a whopping 2.5 million dollars.

If Destiny is indeed to release in 2013, expect an announcement in 2012. And what better time to drop a bomb like that, than at E3, particular Microsoft's E3 press conference.
