You Can Play Nier: Automata Right Now For Free

Nier: Automata has made a multitude of most anticipated of 2017 lists, and for good reason. Expanding upon the first game, it appears to be a highly stylistic Platinum Games RPG with incredible depth. And although the full release won't be out for a few more months, you can play it tonight to get your fix.

Sony has published a demo of Nier: Automata. Weighing in at 4.7GB the experience lasts about 45 minutes, taking you through one of the earliest areas of the game where mechanics are explained before fighting a boss.

The negative side is that the demo is only available on the PlayStation Japan store, which requires that you make a new account. The good side is that both English and Japanese voices and text are supported via an option in the Settings.

As a spin-off of the Drakenguard series, Nier is an open-world JRPG with visually stunning action combat. The story features a war waged between machines, otherworldly creatures, and humanity.
