The Polish Word for “Money” Is Spelled W-i-t-c-h-e-r-2

CDProjekt's currently PC-only RPG The Witcher 2 has been wildly successful on the critical end since its release, and now the Polish developer has revealed the measure of its commercial victories as well. When counting the 200 thousand digital downloads, the game has sold about 940,000 copies worldwide.

A lot of people might not think that's a lot and compare it to mega juggernauts like Call of Duty and Final Fantasy, but remember, those are the exceptions, not the rule. Selling nearly a million is a huge deal, and the company has secured well over 20 million Polish zloties in pure profit. That's almost seven million Canadian dollars. I picked Canadian because it seems more relevant than the American dollar right now. Sorry, homeland.

An Xbox 360 version is supposed to arrive in 2012 while a PS3 version still just a rumor at this time. Console versions might not stack another million, but surely 360 and/or PS3 ports will only add to CDProjekt's success.
