Raisins are one of the new items added to Stardew Valley with the 1.6 update. Players can use the (also new) Dehydrator to craft raisins, which can be used for sustenance and increasing crop output. However, you’ll have to spend a bit of time and money before you can get your hands on them.
So, if you’re wondering how to get raisins in Stardew Valley, we’ll cover these wrinkly, dried grapes in detail below.
How to craft raisin recipe in Stardew Valley
Before you can get raisins in Stardew Valley, you’ll need to get a Dehydrator. Currently, there are three ways to do so:
- Purchase the Dehydrator recipe from Pierre and craft it with the following items:
- Clay x2
- Fire Quartz x1
- Wood x30
- Win as the 12th prize in the mayor’s Prize Machine.
- Choose the Mushroom Cave when Demetrius visits you after earning 25,000 Gold.
Once you have a dehydrator, the recipe to make raisins is simple. You just need to place five grapes of the same quality into the Dehydrator and wait for 29 in-game hours.
To get grapes:
- Summer: Forage or plant summer seeds for a chance to grow them.
- Fall: Purchase a Grape Starter.
What do you use raisins for in Stardew Valley?
During the early game, raisins make for a decent snack in the field as they restore 125 energy and 56 health. You can also sell them for a tidy 600 Gold profit, which makes them much more lucrative than Grapes.
However, raisins become truly useful later in the game. Once you can build a Junimo Hut, placing raisins inside the hut will give Junimos a chance to double-harvest crops. Additionally, Junimos who have access to raisins will harvest crops a bit faster.
So, if you plan on automating your harvesting using Junimos, you’ll absolutely want to get a supply of raisins. Doing so can double your yield, which is a huge deal.
