Dragons Dogma 2 Bakbattahl Portcrystal

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Is There a Bakbattahl Portcrystal?

It would make sense for there to be a Bakbattahl Portcrystal in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Quite a few quests are located there, and you’ll spend a good chunk of your adventure coming and going from the city. Given that it’s the capital of Battahl (and the only settlement of note in the nation), you’ll likely go looking for the Portcrystal as soon as you get there, only to come up empty-handed. So, is it hidden away somewhere, or is there not one at all?

Is there a Battahl Portcrystal in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Surprisingly, there is no Bakbattahl Portcrystal in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Unfortunately, some of our competitors have written guides that state otherwise, but that’s likely because they’re content mills that use AI to generate their articles instead of actually playing the game. Any claim that there is a Portcrystal on the “upper right side” of Bakbattahl is false; we scoured the city in an attempt to find one anywhere. In fact, there’s no permanent Portcrystal in the entire nation of Battahl at all.

Despite the absence of a permanent Portcrystal in Bakbattahl, you have two options if you want to fast travel to the city:

  • Place a Portcrystal in the city yourself.
  • Take the Ox Cart from Checkpoint Rest Town

Place a Portcrystal in Bakbattahl yourself.

Just before the main story prompts you to head to Battahl, Captain Brant will give you a Portcrystal to place at your leisure. I recommend saving this one until you get to Bakbattahl and placing it there.

Take the Ox Cart from Checkpoint Rest Town

There’s an oxcart available at Checkpoint Rest Town that’ll take you to Bakbattahl for 200 Gold. It’s less convenient than a Portcrystal, but it’s a quick, cheap route that can quickly get you from Bakbattahl to Checkpoint Rest Town, Vernworth, and Melve. If you don’t have a Portcrystal in Bakbattahl, you can warp to Vernworth, then use oxcarts for the rest of the journey, and with some luck, it’ll only take 5-10 minutes to reach your destination.
