Spiderman 2 VRR On or Off Smoothed Uncapped Spider-Man

Spiderman 2 VRR On or Off: Should It Be Smoothed or Uncapped in 120 Hz Mode?

Figuring out whether to turn Spiderman 2 VRR on or off can be difficult, especially if you’re not really sure what this feature does. The game also allows you to adjust the VRR setting, otherwise known as Variable Refresh Rate, to Smooth or Uncapped depending on your preference. Then on top of that, the 120 Hz Display Mode setting is also impacted by the VRR option. VRR will increase your resolution or framerate, so it’s worth working out which option to use before you start playing the game in either Performance or Fidelity graphics mode. Here’s what VRR settings you should turn on for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PS5.

Should you turn Spiderman 2 VRR off, smoothed, or uncapped?

For most setups, you should set VRR to Smoothed in Spiderman 2 so long as you have a compatible TV or monitor that supports the feature.

The Smoothed option will allow the console to focus on having a steady resolution with a consistent framerate for the best gameplay experience. If you care more about FPS, though, and you’re not worried about gameplay being as seamless and smooth, then you can try the Uncapped option. That said, if you don’t have a screen that can even support VRR in the first place, you should turn it off in both the in-game settings and the console settings.

These recommendations are the same regardless of whether you use Performance or Fidelity graphics mode. For setups with a 120 Hz TV or monitor, you can turn on the 120 Hz Display Mode to increase frame rate. This technology will allow the Fidelity graphics mode to hit a 40 FPS instead of a 30 FPS, With VRR enabled, this framerate can be increased further, more so with Uncapped than with Smoothed.

So for players who prefer a high and steady FPS, we recommend Smoothed VRR with Performance graphics mode, though if you have a 120 Hz Display, Fidelity graphics mode isn’t a bad choice either.

In addition, you may want to lower the film grain and raise the contrast levels of the game if you find the visuals to look bad to you.
