Starfield Number of Planets How Many

Starfield Number of Planets: How Many Planets Are There?

The Starfield number of planets is a factoid that many fans want to know. Bethesda originally stated that there were over 1,000 planets in the game, but that’s rather vague. And looking at all of the systems and the number of planets and moons, the quantity of planets would seem to be much higher than that at first glance. Players who want to know how many planets there are in the game also may not want to sit down and count every last planetoid, which is more than understandable given how much time that would take. Here’s how many planets there are in Starfield.

How many planets are in Starfield?

There are 373 planets in Starfield.

However, you’re not limited to exploring just those. Including moons, there are 1,692 heavenly bodies you can discover. These planets are divided into the 120 star systems that you can discover on the star map. Only about 10% of planets support life, which will make it easier for completionists to survey every planet and moon in the game.

More Starfield

These figures, for the sake of clarity, is based on the first playthrough of the game. It’s unclear if new game plus actually changes this number in any way by adding systems and planets. There are rumors that NG+ does have additional planets, but this has not been verified yet.

At any rate, we imagine that the first story DLC for the game called Shattered Space might include additional systems to the star map, just given the name itself. Either way, we suspect the number of planets to grow with future content. Perhaps there will be new planets that will feature House Va’ruun or at least specific areas where the cultists may be based, so that we can finally join or interact with the faction in some way.
