This week’s episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law on Disney Plus finally introduced Daredevil/Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) after a lot of teases, and his appearance here will lead into Daredevil: Born Again season 1 — which launches on the service in Spring 2024. So, does She-Hulk specifically tease anything for the new Daredevil Disney Plus series?
Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 teases in She-Hulk
She-Hulk episode 8 helps set up Daredevil: Born Again season 1 in multiple ways, from the obvious to the subtle. Let’s take a look.
New Daredevil Suit
The most obvious setup for the new Daredevil series is, of course, the character’s brand-new yellow and red suit. Other than the color scheme it’s strongly evocative of the suit from the Netflix series, and will likely be the version Matt Murdock wears in his new series.
New York
After sharing a romantic night with She-Hulk, Matt confirms that he’ll be flying home to New York the next day. As was the case in the Netflix series and confirmed by Matt Murdock’s MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Daredevil is still based in New York, which has its own troubles.
Hawkeye and Kingpin
It’s subtle, but when She-Hulk and Daredevil talk after their fight, viewers can spot a billboard for Rogers: The Musical in the background. This was introduced in the Hawkeye Disney Plus series, which also featured the return of the Daredevil Netflix show’s version of Kingpin/Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio). We’d be shocked if Fisk doesn’t appear in the new Daredevil show too.
Marvel Heroes
It may be a small thing, but Daredevil’s interactions with She-Hulk — much like him meeting Spider-Man (Tom Holland) — confirm that he regularly meets with other Marvel superheroes. Whether that means the rest of the Defenders will show up in Born Again in another matter.
Theme Tune Returns
It’s subtle, but at one point the theme tune to the Daredevil Netflix show plays in the background. Does this mean Born Again will use the same theme?
Daredevil: Born Again is currently down to launch on Disney Plus in Spring 2024.
