Many Call of Duty fans are eager to know if there will be a Modern Warfare 2 delay ahead of the expected October 2022 launch. Rumors are beginning to swirl about delays hitting the game in some way, which has led fans to worry about the entire game being delayed until 2023. Here is what we know about the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 delay.
Is Modern Warfare 2 2022 being delayed?
Modern Warfare 2 2022 is still on track for an October 28, 2022 release date.
As found on many major retailers’ websites, the Modern Warfare 2 remake is available to pre-order. Not only is the standard edition available, but so are the limited editions.
Is Modern Warfare 2 DMZ mode delayed?
The DMZ mode hasn’t currently been confirmed and so an official release date hasn’t been announced. While most players would be expecting all new Call of Duty modes to launch together, it isn’t always the case.
Reputable Call of Duty leakers like @RalphsValve have provided information on the DMZ mode, which is supposed to be “Tarkov-inspired” and also known as “Project Nexus,” also stating that it is expected to release in 2023.

This wouldn’t be the first time that a Call of Duty mode has been delayed as Warzone itself didn’t release until March 2020, which was over four months after the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 launch. DMZ could have a similarly delayed launch.
For now, fans are urged to take these reports with a grain of salt. It’s best to wait until official information is revealed before losing hope. Hopefully Activision will reveal more information soon.
