It’s no secret that Fortnite has had a massive impact on the modern gaming landscape, showing how a free-to-play title can be enormously successful in both retaining a passionate base of players while making a ton of money. However, good things must eventually come to an end and, when interest in the original game inevitably begins to wane, a sequel could be the next step. Here’s everything that’s known about Fortnite 2, with a potential release on PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch, iPhone, and Android.
When is the Fortnite 2 release date?
Fortnite 2 will likely launch on November 23, 2023.
This is based on the current Fortnite chapter lasting 718 days, which is what the original chapter lasted. (The second chapter lasted 781 days, but the pandemic likely lengthened development time.) Assuming there’s no fourth chapter and Epic Games follows up the third chapter with a brand new iteration of the game called “Fortnite 2,” the best estimate for a release date is November 23, 2023.
Fortnite 2 would no doubt be a sequel that builds on the battle royale foundation of the original. However, it may also introduce a single-player and co-op element, as was the case with the original Save The World content that Fortnite first launched with.
What platforms will Fortnite 2 be on?
Fortnite 2 would be playable on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iPhone, and Android.
Unless something unexpected happens, like some form of exclusivity with a particular platform, the Fortnite sequel would likely support all modern platforms.
Whether or not Fortnite 2 launches for iPhone is still unknown. At the time of writing, the original game is stuck in a state of limbo, with iPhone players unable to enjoy the latest content.
Fortnite 2 would undoubtedly continue the trend of big crossovers with both games, movies, and other media.
