Fortnite Web-Surfing

Fortnite’s Spider-Man has an ability even Insomniac’s games are missing

There’s a new Fortnite web-surfing ability in Epic’s battle royale, which has been introduced alongside the long-rumored Spider-Man skin and can be performed by using the new Web-Shooters item. Fans discovering this Fortnite Web-Shooters ability have been freaking out about it, as it’s a move that’s appeared in movies such as Spider-Man 3 but has never really appeared in games — not even Insomniac’s classic Spider-Man game for PS4 and PS5.

How to do Fortnite Web-Surfing with Spider-Man

Fortnite Web-Surfing

To use the Web-Surfing ability in Fortnite, players have to get hold of the Web-Shooters Mythic item and then attach themselves with a web to any moving vehicle, which will make Spider-Man — or any other character using the item — “surf” on the ground behind the vehicle. The Web-Shooters Mythic item is only available in Fortnite on December 11 at 7 AM PST/10 AM ET/3 PM GMT, after which they will likely start appearing at random locations over the map and maybe even marked on it.

However, some players have been unlocking the Web-Shooters early in Fortnite’s Creative mode, as the item appeared for purchase with gold bars from NPCs. While initially the price was too high to actually get, some players have obviously got around that issue and started swinging around the island as Spider-Man — not to mention discovering the Web-Surfing.

In fact, the swinging and surfing are so good, fans are saying that Fortnite’s Spider-Man is actually more fun to play than the PS4/PS5-exclusive version in Marvel’s Avengers that finally released last week after being promised for over a year.

Epic has also teased that there may be more Spider-Man-related tie-ins coming alongside the Spider-Man: No Way Home movie that releases next week. For more help with Fortnite, here’s how to sort out the annoying blurry textures problem, as well as everything known about the January 2022 Crew Pack release and when it will launch.
