Call of Duty: Vanguard is right around the corner, which means that PC players are looking to pre-order the game to play at launch. But, where is CoD: Vanguard available to buy on PC? Is there a Call of Duty: Vanguard Steam release date for computers? Here’s the need-to-know info on which PC platforms Activision’s WWII FPS game is coming out on.
Is Call of Duty: Vanguard coming to Steam?
The Call of Duty: Vanguard PC release date is November 5, 2021. CoD: Vanguard is a Battle.net exclusive game, so there is no Steam launch on computers.
Steam hasn’t been getting Call of Duty games for a while now. Ever since transitioning to Battle.net with CoD: Black Ops 4, the popular series has been absent from Valve’s storefront. The shift makes financial sense; Activision owns that platform and, thus, doesn’t have to split the Call of Duty PC revenue with anyone.
While the reasoning behind the transition is clear, many fans still aren’t happy. Some Steam purists would rather boycott the series than play Call of Duty elsewhere, ultimately losing Activision sales. Presumably, however, this hasn’t made enough of a dent to force the company into changing its continuing stance.
Moving away from Steam is increasingly common, with recent games like GTA Trilogy and Far Cry 6 following suit.
Is Call of Duty: Vanguard coming to the Epic Games Store (EGS)?
Call of Duty: Vanguard is available on PC as of its November 5, 2021 launch. The game is only available via Battle.net, as there is no CoD: Vanguard Epic Games Store (EGS) release date.
Epic Games provides a larger revenue split to developers than Steam, though Activision still gets a better deal by selling through its own digital store. As a result, there isn’t a Call of Duty: Vanguard EGS release for PC on the cards in 2021.
