Back 4 Blood Act 2 Not Unlocking

Back 4 Blood Act 2 Not Unlocking: Is there a fix?

The Back 4 Blood Act 2 not unlocking bug is a deeply annoying one, as it essentially means that players can’t progress past the content seen in the beta release. Players who can’t start Act 2 in Back 4 Blood have played through all of Act 1 online but get kicked back to the Fort Hope hub upon completion and find that Act 2 isn’t unlocked for them. Here’s a fix and how to unlock Back 4 Blood Act 2 for good.

Is there a Back 4 Blood Act 2 not unlocking bug fix?

Back 4 Blood Act 2 Not Unlocking

If Back 4 Blood Act 2 isn’t unlocking properly upon completion of Act 1 try these possible fixes:

  • Make sure Act 1 has been completed properly and do not leave the match at the end of the map after the ship has been destroyed.
    • Instead click “ready” at the end as if wanting to continue on to the next map, but the game will take the player back to Fort Hope. If the player didn’t click “ready” then Act 2 might not be unlocked properly.
  • If Act 2 still hasn’t unlocked, then try and play through all of Act 1 in single-player instead.
    • If it is the player’s own game then Act 2 should unlock fine.

The annoying thing about having to play through all of Act 1 in Solo mode in order to unlock Act 2 is that a lot of Back 4 Blood’s features are switched off, such as achievements and trophies and the in-game currency Supply Points. Unfortunately, if Act 2 is simply not unlocking then this might be the best option to progress in Back 4 Blood, as playing with random people or using Quickplay might not work.

In other Back 4 Blood news, KFC Gaming called Back 4 Blood a “cheap copy” of Left 4 Dead, and Turtle Rock responded in kind. Furthermore, players have been made uncomfortable with the discovery that Back 4 Blood records all voice chats for “moderation” purposes.
