Yakuza spin-off Lost Judgment is securing some stellar reviews that have a lot of gamers eager to play for themselves. Fortunately, fans don’t need to wait much longer until launch. Will there be a Lost Judgment Nintendo Switch release date, though? Or is the game just coming to Xbox and PlayStation platforms? Here’s the latest on Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s new Judgment sequel coming to Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, and the Switch OLED model.
Is a Lost Judgment Nintendo Switch version coming out?
The Lost Judgment release date is September 21, 2021, though the initial launch does not include a Nintendo Switch version.
RGG Studio hasn’t announced any plans to develop and release a Lost Judgment Switch port at this time. The game is launching exclusively for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on Tuesday, September 21.
Interestingly, Lost Judgment’s reveal made mention of a PC version coming to Steam and Windows 10. SEGA would go on to pull marketing for that version, telling PC Gamer that the port isn’t coming “at this time.” The publisher seems open to revisiting Lost Judgment ports in the future, which could bode well for a potential Nintendo Switch release date.
That said, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio titles don’t commonly reach the Nintendo Switch family of systems; Yakuza and Judgment games haven’t been available on Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, and the Switch OLED model in the past. While there’s a first for everything, it probably isn’t advisable for fans to hold their breath — on this occasion especially. Due to a likeness dispute, the future of the Judgment series as a whole is uncertain.
