Rollerdrome Switch Release Date

Is Rollerdrome Getting a Switch Release Date?

Fans are hoping to see a Rollerdrome Switch release date sometime soon. The game is out for PC, PS4, and PS5, so where’s the Nintendo Switch version? We’ll take a look at the chances of the game making it to the handheld/TV hybrid console below.

Will there be a Rollerdrome Switch release date?

Rollerdrome Nintendo Switch release date

A Rollerdrome Switch release date hasn’t been announced yet. Roll7, the studio behind the game, hasn’t revealed whether it’ll be bringing the game to new systems in the future. We can assume that if it does well, it’ll make it way to more platforms. However, something might stand in the way of that plan.

Since Rollerdrome was revealed during a State of Play stream, we can assume that it’s a Sony exclusive for the time being. The game isn’t coming to Xbox either, so it’s a PS4 and PS5 console exclusive. Frequently, we see deals list this only last a year, so we could get a Switch release in 2023.

However, we’ve also seen Sony pay for indefinite exclusivity. Typically, we don’t see that with smaller titles, but there are some developments that might change that.

A lot of the bigger studios like Bethesda and Bungie are being purchased by Microsoft and Sony. Eventually, we’re going to see a lot of big AAA titles become exclusives by default. When that happens, it’s possible we’ll see the two companies start to duke it out over AA and indie exclusivity. Games like Rollerdrome are a prize for Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus Extra and Premium. So, there’s no telling what Roll7’s arrangement with Sony is (if any).

For now, there’s no word of a Rollerdrome Switch release. However, from our limited experience with it, the game doesn’t seem too hardware intensive, so it’s possible we could see a port. We wouldn’t expect to see it anytime soon, in any case.
