Wrapping one’s head around Deathloop can take a while. Players need every advantage they can get to break the loop and beat the game, which makes building an arsenal key to success. But, is it possible to lose items forever in Deathloop? Here’s what happens to weapons, Slabs, and Trinkets when players die, Sacrifice them for Residuum, or drop and leave them behind.
Deathloop Lose Items: Can weapons, Slabs, and Trinkets be lost forever?
In Deathloop, it’s possible to lose items forever in several different ways. By dying, dropping an item and exiting the level, or Sacrificing gear users lose access to items completely. Players can retain weapons, Slabs, and Trinkets upon death and after leaving them behind by Infusing them with Residiuum, however.
By progressing through the main storyline, players will unlock the ability to gather Residuum and use it to Infuse items. These items then persist between loops, allowing users to build a better starting loadout. After Colt exhaust all of his deaths, players will retain any gear that is Infused for the next loop. Players can lose access to Infused items for the current loop by dropping them and leaving an area — these reappear at the start of the next run, though.
The one exception to the rule is Sacrificing items; if players Infuse a Slab, Trinket, or weapon it’ll still be gone for good after performing a Sacrifice. It is possible to Sacrifice items like the starting LIMP-10 and Spring Heeled Character Trinket while retaining them at the start of each loop, however. This is because they spawn in Colt’s hideout so are present each time regardless.
While the PlayStation 5 version of Deathloop is getting rave reviews, PC players aren’t as happy. Arkane’s latest is getting a lot of negative reviews on Steam due to technical issues. If that sounds familiar, here’s how to reduce problems like lag, stutter, FPS drop, and crashing in Deathloop.
