Elden Ring has its own new game plus system labeled as “Journeys.” These allow players to restart the story but keep the majority of their stats and equipment. Journeys also make enemies more difficult to take down, but they drop more Runes when beaten. Journeys are Elden Ring’s “Hard Mode,” if you like, and players can keep restarting the game to go on the next Journey. But just how many Journeys are there? And is there a cap on the rewards? Here’s what we know.
How many Elden Ring Journeys are there?
Elden Ring has eight Journeys in total.
According to users claiming to have beaten Elden Ring multiple times, Journey 8 is the soft cap where the difficulty and Rune multiplier no longer increase. While Journey 9 does become available, it boasts no real benefit other than reviving enemies and respawning items.
Does the Elden Ring game ever truly end?
Elden Ring never truly ends. Players can start new Journeys over and over again.
As mentioned above, Journeys past eight won’t come with the usual Rune multiplier and difficulty increase. Journeys above eight will play the same as that eighth reset.
For those pushing through to the game’s maximum level cap, there may be some appeal to resetting over and over. For everyone else, Journey 8 seems to be the endpoint.
