For a game with such a heavy focus on relationships, it’s surprising to note that there are no romance options in Scarlet Nexus. The game requires players to increase their relationship status with all their teammates to be more effective in battle, not to mention having access to additional and extremely useful powers or special moves.
To improve relationships with the characters, players have to talk to their teammates, buy them gifts, or take part in a short “bonding episode” cutscene which reveals more about the back-stories of each character. Unfortunately, none of these result in any sort of romantic relationship, despite a lot of hints to the contrary. None of the other characters get involved romantically, either. The best players can hope for is a strong friendship, although that may change when the Scarlet Nexus anime comes out next month.
Scarlet Nexus is out now on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, and PS5, although sadly there’s no news yet on a Switch port.
