The eagerly-awaited dinosaur management sequel was revealed at E3 this month, but the one thing missing was confirmation of a Jurassic World Evolution 2 Switch release date. The original Jurassic World Evolution Switch release came much later, but fans of the first game on Nintendo’s console probably want to know, will JWE2 come out on Switch, and if so, when? Let’s have a look.
What is the Jurassic World Evolution 2 Switch release date?
The Jurassic World Evolution 2 Switch release date could be 2022.
The estimate above is based on the PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5 versions scheduled to launch later in 2021. This suggests that any Nintendo Switch release would come later. With the original Jurassic World Evolution taking a year to appear on Switch after the initial release, it’s possible that the sequel will take just as long.
At the time of writing, however, the official Jurassic World Evolution 2 Twitter account has stated that the team has “no plans for a Nintendo Switch release.”
Hey Sean! We have no plans for a Nintendo Switch release!

In this case, “no plans” does not translate to “will never happen,” as the first Jurassic World Evolution was not announced for Switch when that came out in 2018, and yet the Complete Edition was announced and released on Switch late in 2019. The same may very well happen with the sequel, especially as the official Twitter account has a habit of saying things that prove untrue almost immediately.
At the point, Frontier hasn’t revealed much about Jurassic World Evolution 2. The story will pick up after the events of Fallen Kingdom and will connect to the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion movie, but don’t expect there to be any co-op or online multiplayer as the team has confirmed that the game will be “mainly” single-player, although that suggests there may be some limited online interaction within the game.
