The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos Spectrum Gatling, The Needler, and Udder Buddy locations are necessary for those who not only want some slick new Science weapons, but also for those who want the “Spectrum Needler Buddy” trophy achievement. Here’s how to find those three weapons as well as how to find the colored Spectrum Vodka bottles. Spoilers ahead, especially for the final weapon!
How to find the Udder Buddy in The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos
The Udder Buddy is the easiest Science Weapon to find in Murder on Eridanos but it is not part of the main path, which may cause some players to miss it. In order to get it, players have to complete the “Lost Little Milkmech” side quest at the Wildlife Exploitation Reserve.
The side quest starts at the Legal Hunting Supplies (talk to Mildread Lenox) and Betty the milkmech is where the green arrow is. Simply kill the canids around Betty and she will start making her way back. Talk to Lenox to get the Udder Buddy melee weapon.
How to find the Spectrum Gatling in The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos
The Spectrum Gatling requires the most work in Murder on Eridanos…
…Because it’s locked away in the RR&DD Labs.
To get it, players have to find all eight colors of Spectrum Vodka for the “At the End of the Spectrum” quest at the RR&DD lab.
This is the front door of the labs.
The RR&DD Labs are on the lower left side of Eridanos where the marker is.
Players will need a key to get in, which is in the above map. It’s on a picnic blanket.
Red, yellow, green, black, orange, blue, violet, and indigo Spectrum Vodka bottle locations
There are a few ways to get some of the Spectrum Vodka bottles. Some are at vendors and others are in the game’s bars.
But getting them like this is tedious since they are all scattered around. The easiest way to get them is to get them all in one swipe at the distillery, the building with the three colored smoke clouds coming out of them. Look at the above map for the location.
Just go inside, which is a requirement for one of the last missions, and go to the spot on the above map.
Every single flavor will be laid out on the bar. Grab them all and then head back to the terminal at the RR&DD Labs. Interact with the computer and the glass will open up.
How to find the Needler in The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos
The Needler is one of the easier weapons to get in Murder on Eridanos. This is the most spoilery part of the guide so scroll below to stay unsullied.
The Needler can only be gotten from Halcyon Helen herself. There are a few ways to get it. Once she’s back at your hotel suite, players can ask her for it. This requires only 40 Persuade.
Alternatively, players can also pickpocket her for the Needler at the hotel or kill her and loot her corpse there, too. She can also be killed or pickpocketed at the end of the DLC near the ship, but it’s a lot harder to pickpocket her since her back is facing a wall then. Players might have to get crafty. Trying to pickpocket her, running away, and then pickpocketing her on her way back to her post can be effective, especially if they have fast pickpocketing skills. Just be sure to have a save handy here. She also disappears upon boarding the Unreliable, which would seem to make this trophy missable.
Given the scope and breadth of choices in The Outer Worlds, there are likely other ways to get this weapon. But these are the easiest ways.
