Genshin Impact Roadmap | New areas, events, and updates

After getting to grips with the base game, players are already eager to see what’s next on the Genshin Impact roadmap. The JRPG developed by miHoYo is taking PC, PS4, iOS, and Android by storm, so the devs are also keen to capitalize on that popularity. As such, the team has already shared the Genshin Impact 2020 content roadmap and outlined update plans for early 2021.

Genshin Impact Roadmap | Upcoming DLC details

Genshin Impact roadmap

Zelda-like JRPG Genshin Impact instantly gained success, ensuring that it will be supported well into the future. The Genshin Impact DLC roadmap from now until February 2021 has already been detailed by miHoYo. It’s all but guaranteed that there will be more new Genshin Impact content to come after that, though proceeding one step at a time should give the team some room for adjustment.

The Genshin Impact roadmap consists of three major updates, which are as follows:

  1. Version 1.1 — Scheduled for November 11, 2020; the “The Unreturned Star” event will begin.
  2. Version 1.2 — Scheduled for December 23, 2020; the “Longji Snow Mountain” area and related activities will be added.
  3. Version 1.3 —  Scheduled for February 2021; the “Sea Lantern Festival” event will begin.

The roadmap for Genshin Impact was revealed on the miHoYo website, written entirely in Chinese. There may be some translation discrepancies due to this.

The Genjin Impact update schedule states that major updates can be expected every six weeks, with patches landing for download on Wednesdays. Should the team stick to the proposed schedule, the Genshin Impact version 1.4 release date will likely be in late March 2021. What will be included is currently unknown, though updates should be provided in due course.

Much like the base game, Genshin Impact content updates will be free to download; they can’t come soon enough for players that have already reached the Genshin Impact endgame.

Of course, part of the Genshin Impact developer roadmap is also bringing the game to Nintendo Switch. There’s no such luck for Xbox fans, however.
