Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX Link Moves | How to link and unlink moves

If you’re struggling to dispatch enemies throughout your adventures in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX on Nintendo Switch, then you might want to head to Pokemon Square and strike up a conversation with Gulpin. This Poison-type Gen III Pokemon runs a market stall appropriately titled Gulpin Link Shop, which you can visit in order to link moves and attack twice in a single turn. Here’s everything you need to know about Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX link moves.

What are link moves in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX?

Linking moves can be a very powerful tactic, because, as previously mentioned, any two linked moves will be unleashed consecutively when utilized in battle. This allows one Pokemon to make two attacks in a single turn, having the potential to outright defeat an enemy before they get the chance to counter-attack and deal damage to your party. It’s also worth noting, however, that you will no longer be able to use the linked moves individually unless you later unlink them.

Certain combinations of moves are particularly powerful, though using link moves will drain the relevant Pokemon’s “Belly” gauge faster and may cut your dungeon delving short as a result. Without food to satisfy a Pokemon’s resulting hunger, they’ll gradually lose HP until they faint and you fail the current Mystery Dungeon.

When you aren’t exploring one of the game’s titular Mystery Dungeons, you’ll spend time in a hub area called Pokemon Square. In the market section of Pokemon Square, which is just to the right of your Rescue Team’s home base, you’ll be able to find Gulpin Link Shop.

Speak to Gulpin and you’ll be presented the option to link and unlink moves. Any two of a Pokemon’s moves can be linked, though take care which way you order them as the top move will always be used before the bottom move. If you make a mistake or find that the combination isn’t as effective as you’d hoped, simply return to Gulpin and opt to unlink the moves that you previously linked.
