It’s a mainstay of the series and is often known as the best Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts, but you might not realize how to unlock the Kingdom Hearts 3 Ultima Weapon at first thanks to its crafting and synthesis requirements being tucked away behind a handful of Moogle menus. But may my words be your guiding key. Or something. Here’s how to craft the KH3 Ultima Weapon, as well as a quick look at its stats, just for those wondering whether it’s worth unlocking the best Keyblade in the game.
How to unlock the Kingdom Hearts 3 Ultima Weapon
Chances are, you’ve probably unlocked all Kingdom Hearts 3 Keyblades, except one. To unlock the Kingdom Hearts 3 Ultima Weapon, you need to obtain 58 different synthesis materials. These can be collected via defeating enemies, opening chests, or synthesizing them yourself in the Moogle Workshop. Simply go to any Moogle near a save point, click “Workshop” and it’ll tally up how many Collector Goals (i.e. how many materials) you’ve ticked off.
To get 58, you’re also likely going to need to obtain at least 1000 total synthesis materials. This Collector’s Goal will enable you to craft Orichalcum, one of the missing materials that’s obscenely rare to find otherwise. For reference, a near-30 hour runthrough of the game with minimum grinding netted me 57 materials. It’s not too difficult to complete.
Once that’s done, you’ll actually need to begin crafting the Ultima Weapon in the “Synthesize Items” page in the Workshop. Scroll down to weapons and you’ll find that the following materials are required to synthesize and craft the Ultima Weapon in KH3.
