All Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Characters – All Challenger Packs Guide

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is out now, exclusively on Nintendo Switch and apparently not entirely content with the ludicrous amount of characters and stages in the game, people are already wondering about who all Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC characters are. If you’re after the knowledge of who all the DLC fighters in Smash Ultimate are, you’re in luck. Read on to discover who the all the DLC characters in Smash Ultimate are.

All Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Characters – Piranha Plant

All Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Characters

Piranha Plant was the first DLC fighter to be announced for Smash Ultimate. The classic Super Mario enemy isn’t part of the Smash Ultimate Fighters Pass, however, and is available for free for early adopters of the game. Those of us who fail to pick up and register a copy of the game in time will be able to purchase Piranha Plant when he goes live in February 2019. Our guide on how to download Piranha Plant for free will prove very useful here. It’s quite simple really, but at least those of us who pick up the game after January 31, 2019, will be able to play as Piranha Plant (at extra cost, mind).

All Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Characters – Joker

All Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Characters

Nintendo revealed the first DLC character that forms part of the five-strong Fighters Pass at the Game Awards 2018. Each character that forms the Fighters Pass will also come bundled with a stage and music tracks. Joker, the protagonist from Persona 5, was confirmed as the first of these DLC characters. Sadly, however, we don’t know anything about him other than the fact that he is on the way presumably some time next year.

We will update this post with the full details on Joker as soon as we have them. For now, though, you can always dream and read our more in-depth guide on Joker, right here.

All Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Characters – Who Else is Invited?

While we already know that Piranha Plant and Joker are on the way, we sadly do not know who the other four DLC characters will be in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Based on the inclusion of Joker, however, we can assume that there are no limits in who will be announced next. We’ve heard plenty of cries for characters such as Banjo & Kazooie, Sora, and even Minecraft Steve. While they might all seem like a long shot, with Joker from Persona 5 on the way, seemingly anything is possible. Maybe not Waluigi, though.

Of course, we will update this post with each Smash Ultimate DLC character as soon as they are announced by Nintendo. Keep an eye on this post, dear readers, as it is only going to grow.

Smash Ultimate Fighters Pass Worth It? – Should I Buy?

All of this DLC will come at a price, of course. Each individual Fighter Set will set you back $5.99. While that sounds like quite a lot, do remember that each one comes with a fighter, stage, and music collection. If buying characters individually isn’t your thing, however, you can pick up the Smash Ultimate Fighters Pass for $24.99. This will bag you each of the five characters as soon as they come out, each DLC stage, and all of the accompanying music. On top of that, too, you will receive a Rex (Xenoblade Chronicles 2) Mii Fighter outfit at no additional cost. Piranha Plant will set you back an as-yet-announced cost if you fail to register the game in time, separately from the Fighters Pass.

Despite the fact that not all DLC characters have been announced as of writing, you can buy the Fighters Pass for Smash Ultimate right now. The question is, is it worth it? If you’re simply happy to plonk down some money on unannounced characters, knowing Nintendo and Sakurai won’t let you down, then the answer is yes. If, however, money is at a premium right now, you might want to hold fire until you know who each character is. While buying the Fighters Pass will save you around $5 compared to buying each DLC character individually, it isn’t worth it if you know you hate one or two of the fighters.

Our advice? Wait and see who Nintendo announces as the remaining DLC characters in Smash Ultimate. You can do so by keeping an eye on this ever-evolving guide.
