FFXIV: Stormblood – What Is Direct Hit Rate?

With the arrival of Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, an all-new stat has been added to the game. It’s called Direct Hit Rate, and it’s confused many players as it’s unfamiliar for the MMO genre.

Direct Hit Rate is officially described as the following:

Affects the rate at which your physical and magic attacks land direct hits, slightly dealing more damage than normal hits. The higher the value, the higher the frequency with which your hits will be direct.

Direct Hit Rate has effectively replaced Accuracy, serving as the precision stat for DPS jobs. Though, instead of it functioning in a binary hit or miss way, you will see damage variance. Some hits will be stronger, while others weaker.

Thus, this stat is well worth investing in for all DPS jobs.
