New Marvel movies and the future of the MCU’s Phase 4 have been teased by head honcho Kevin Feige. Ms. Marvel still has six episodes left in its Disney+ run and Thor: Love and Thunder isn’t out for a couple of weeks, but curious fans are already wondering what the future holds for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thankfully, Kevin Feige recently spilled some details on when fans can expect to hear more about where the superhero saga is going. Phase 4 has already been shaping up around numerous films and television series, including 2021’s Black Widow and WandaVision, respectively, but it’s never too early to look ahead. As any Marvel fan worth their weight in Vibranium is well aware, the MCU’s first three phases painted a clear, narrative picture surrounding Thanos’ persistent pursuit of the Infinity Stones. Those faithful followers haven’t gotten the same clarity from Phase 4, however, as it seems the major crossover characters, stories, and events are taking their time to come together. But Marvel head Kevin Feige assures fans that it’ll all make sense soon enough. In fact, talking to Total Film ahead of Thor: Love and Thunder’s release, he shared, “As we’re nearing the end of Phase 4, I think people will start to see where the next saga is going.”
Feige also took that tease a bit further, practically inviting Marvel’s most dedicated fans to dive back into existing Phase 4 content: “I think there have been many clues already, that are at least apparent to me, of where this whole saga is going.” If an entire Phase 4 re-watch still leaves you scratching your head though, it sounds like you needn’t wait much longer for more concrete details to hit. “But we’ll be a little more direct about that in the coming months, to set a plan, so audiences who want to see the bigger picture can see a tiny, tiny, tiny bit more of the roadmap,” Feige concluded.
Of course, while fans are anxious to decipher what’s next for the MCU, Phase 4’s still got plenty of films and TV content in the pipeline, including She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in the not-too-distant future. If Feige’s statements are to be believed, we’ll have a much better handle on where things are headed by the times both of those drop later this year.
