Halo Infinite’s multiplayer got its first big reveal during E3 2021. We learned that it would be free-to-play and feature a seasonal battle pass system (like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Call of Duty, etcetera). Now, 343 Industries has given some details about what will be included in Halo Infinite season one, which is titled “Heroes of Reach.”
What will Halo Infinite’s season one battle pass have?
343 Industries hasn’t revealed any definitive events or rewards, but we do know that Halo Infinite season one will be called Heroes of Reach. As such, it’s likely that battle pass unlocks will center around that location in the Halo universe and its history. This location is where the SPARTAN-II soldiers received their training and was the site of one of humanity’s worst defeats during the Covenant War. The teaser posted on a Halo Waypoint blog also states:
“I can share that we picked “Heroes of Reach” as a Seasonal theme for very specific reasons: Reach has a rich history; it’s a key location for Spartans of old and a focal point for a new generation of Spartans preparing to wrestle with the perils and mysteries of a galaxy that has fundamentally changed after the events of Halo 5.
Indeed, Halo Infinite’s first Multiplayer Season takes place at a transformational moment in Halo history—at the pivot point from one generation of heroes to the next. In this moment, your Multiplayer hero is waiting just offstage, geared up for battle and ready to spring into action.
And their epic story has yet to be told.”
It seems like Halo Infinite may be taking an approach similar to Fortnite, where a story is told throughout the season. Perhaps we’ll even see a SPARTAN-V program.
A Halo Infinite season one start date hasn’t been announced yet. Still, it’ll likely begin shortly after the game launches sometime during Holiday 2021.
