After years of misdirection and neglect, the beloved THPS series is set to make its (hopefully) triumphant comeback in 2020. Although THPS Remastered has already been confirmed for a PC release via the Epic Games Store, will there be a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Remastered Steam version as well? Stick with us for all the current info.
Is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Remastered coming to Steam?
Pro Skater Remastered is definitely coming to PC and will be available from the Epic Games Store starting day one. If you prefer to purchase and play your games on Steam, however, Activision hasn’t shared any plans to release on Valve’s storefront. There is no Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Remastered Steam release date as a result.

Like many publishers, in recent years Activision has opted to release most of its PC games via proprietary means. The likes of Destiny 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare skipped Steam in favor of Battle.net, for example. In the case of Pro Skater Remastered, it appears as though the publisher is choosing to go with EGS instead; potentially for a greater audience reach, and certainly for a greater share of the profits than offered by Steam.
Games sold on the Epic Games Store return 88% revenue to publishers, versus just 70% on Steam. It’s clear to see why businesses make the choice, though it’s nonetheless disappointing for Steam devotees.
Although there’s no official word yet, it’s possible that THPS Remastered could hit Steam at a later date. Games being timed exclusives to the Epic Games Store isn’t out of the ordinary, while both Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy are available on Steam. If those two PSX remasters found an audience on the platform, it’s possible that Activision will recognize Pro Skater Remastered could too.
