Yoshi-Centric Game Confirmed For Wii U

The torrent of Nintendo news continues with confirmation that a Yoshi game is currently in the works for Wii U.

Announced during today's Nintendo Direct, this new title featuring the iconic green dinosaur will be developed by the same team behind Kirby's Epic Yarn. As such, the game sports a very whimsical visual style as well as a protagonist made completely out of yarn.

Nintendo has yet to confirm the actual name of the game (we'll just call it Yarn Yoshi for now, cool?) as well as how it will actually play, but judging by the tiny bit of footage available, it looks like a traditional 2D platformer. The game will be supervised by Takashi Tezuka, the director behind both Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Story.

Stay tuned to GameRevolution for more info on this exciting new title in the weeks and months to come.
