Mario Strikers: Battle League will get free content updates after the game has launched, and Nintendo confirmed the DLC will include extra characters. For now, Nintendo Switch Online members can download a free demo in preparation for a Test Kick online event that begins next weekend.
More Mario Strikers: Battle League content coming soon
There will be multiple free post-launch content drops for Mario Strikers: Battle League, according to Game Informer. Some of these will include new characters, although Nintendo didn’t specify other content players could expect in their free DLC. The game will launch with ten characters, including Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Peach, Rosalina, Toad, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario, and Waluigi. Dataminer @Wipeoutjack7 suggests there will be 10 DLC characters added to make 20 characters in total, which would leave space for characters like Daisy, Bowser Jr., Diddy Kong, and Koopa Troopa to join the roster.
Nintendo Switch Online members can currently make use of a free limited-time demo that was released today. The demo puts players through the tutorial mode of the game in preparation for a Nintendo Switch Online First Kick event due to take place next weekend. First Kick will pit players against each other in online multiplayer matches during six dedicated timeslots between June 3-5. Those who take part in the First Kick event will earn 100 Platinum Points as part of the Nintendo Switch Online “Missions & Rewards”. The timeslots during which players will be able to try out the game are:
